Rules for Basketball (men & women)

  • There will be two separate tournaments: one male and one female. A mixed team will be playing in the men's tournament.
  • There will be two groups of 4 teams. Each team will play a pre-playoff against three other teams in its group.

  • Depending on the results obtained in the previous league, we will create the crossings of the second phase (quarters, semis and final). The losing teams will play classification matches for the 5th to 8th.

  • All matches, except the final, will be played with 5 players on a small field (1/3) and a duration of twelve minutes against the clock. The final will be played on a complete field and will exist of two parts of 20 minutes standing time.
  • The tournament will follow the rules of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 2008. www.fiba.com. Some modifications to these rules (time splits, failures, etc ...) and the triple contest rules will be communicated to the captains of the teams at the start of the tournament.

Triple Contest:
There will be a mixed triples competition throughout the day. Each participant may register for this competition. The organization reserves the right to change the rules and the contest's time depending on the volume of people registered and the time available. It is planned for the preliminary series to start at noon (during lunch) and the final at half-time of the finals.

COMPETITION RULES

The tournament will be divided into 4 levels (mixed groups for men and women):

  • Level A: Advanced/professional players (maximum 12)
  • Level B: Advanced recreational players (maximum 16)
  • Level C: Recreational players (maximum 16)
  • Level D: Beginners (maximum 16)

The tournament will consist of a preliminary round and a knockout round. In the preliminary round (small groups) each player competes once with every other player. The results of these matches determine the seedings for the following knockout round.

All players will continue in the knockout round.

All matches are best of 3 games to eleven points (Scoring will be point-a-rally). The finals will be best of 5.

ADDITIONAL RULES

  • The maximum number of players will be 60, admitting the addition to each group in the order of full registration.
  • During registration the player can indicate whether he/she wants to play in a higher level in case their preferred level is fully booked.
  • The organisation reserves the right to move a player to a different level in order to optimise the competition tables.
  • The matches will be refereed by the players themselves. The loser of a match will referee the next match on the same track.
  • During registration the player will indicate in which level s/he wants to participate. If this level is already fully booked, then s/he will be put on a waiting list, or chose to register for a higher level.

COMPETITION RULES

Playing with a libero player is allowed. The libero is neither allowed to serve nor to jump to hit the ball over the net.

Neither  touching the net in the superior part or inviding opposite field is permitted.
Before the start of each game, a drawing will be done by the referee. The winner of the drawing will choose either the team to start serving or the side of the court, but not both.

When any team score 13 teams will change side of the court.

Pool Play

Each group of level A, B+, B and C will have seven teams.
Each group will compete on a pool play.
The 1st and 2nd classified will play the final and the 3rd and 4th classified will play a final for 3rd position.
Each game will consist of 1 set played to 25 points or 20 minutes, whichever is earlier: once one team reaches 25 points, the game is over (no need of 2 points difference).
At the end of the 20 minutes, as indicated by the time signal, the game is over. Point currently played will be finished. In case of a tie, another point will be played.
Warm ups on the court begin 5 minutes before the game start time. Games will begin punctually, as indicated by the time signal.
A maximum of 2 players may be replaced by each team per game.
One Time outs will be allowed.
A team that is not presented at the start of the game is penalized with 5 points. After 5 minutes of delay the referee will consider the missing team as looser with the score of 0-25.
Each game won will earn the team 1 points and each game lost earns the team 0 points.
The ranking of the team is determined firstly by the total points earned.
In case of a tie, the team with the higher number of games won by scoring 25 will be ranked higher.
If there is still a tie, the team with the higher number of total points won during the games will be ranked higher.
If there is still a tie, the decision will be taken with a drawing.

Final 1-2 and final for 3rd position

Each game will be played to "best of three" sets. First two sets will be played to 25 points and the third set to 15 points (no need of 2 points difference in any of the sets) or 75 minutes whichever is earlier.

A maximum of 2 players may be replaced by each team per set.

Referee

Each team will need to referee a number of games.
Each game will need 2 people from the refereeing team to be present, to fulfill the following roles: one referee and one scorekeeper.
Referee must adhere strictly to the start/end signals.
Delay or refuse in refereeing will be penalized with 2 points from total score.
Referee should report at least 3 minutes before the official start time of each game to the Tournament Committee to receive the score sheet.
Any decision on rules, interpretation, issues, penalties, time keeping is taken by the Tournament Committee (Josemi, Rafa, Raúl y Miguelón) with no chance of reply.

COMPETITION RULES

  • 50m indoor swimming pool / 8 lanes - Electronic timing.
  • The warm-up session will start 1 hour before the competition start.
  • La competición se realizará por el sistema de UNICA SALIDA .
  • Each swimmer can register for a maximum of 3 individual events + all relays (if they so want).
  • A starting time is required during registration.
  • The relays will be swum in mixed categories (no separation by gender).
  • For the rest of the events, the FINA Masters categories will be respected.
  • Spanish swimmers (or foreigners living in Spain) should have a valid swimming license from their federation for Season 2009/2010.
  • Other swimmers should be in possession of a valid swimming license from their Federation.
  • Medals will be awarded to the first 3 winners for each event per age category and gender.
  • All not specifically mentioned rules will be governed by the FINA Masters rules.

COMPETITION RULES

  • The type of competition will be 7-a-side football. Games will be played on artificial turf. The competition will count with 8 or 10 teams, depending on how many players are inscribed.
  • Every team will have at least 7 players, 12 as maximum.
  • The competition rules will be those established by the International Football Federation (FIFA). However, there will be NO OFF-SIDE RULE. A player who receives two yellow cards during a game will be sent out, but will not be punished for further games. If a player is shown a direct red card, he will be kicked out of the game and punished for the next game. A player who, during the whole tournament, sees 4 yellow card, will be punished with one game suspension.
  • It will not be necessary to warn the referee every time a team wants to realize a substitution, as long as there are always 5 players on the pitch minimum, 7 maximum.
  • The competition will consist of two different rounds: in the first one, teams will be divided in two different pools and will play against each other once. The second round will consist of direct classifying matches that will be distributed according to the results obtained during the first round.
  • The match's lengths will depend on the number of teams signed up.
  • There will be trophies to Fair-Play (team that gets less yellow and red cards), as well as individual trophies for the maximum scorer and the best goalkeeper.

ADDITIONAL RULES

  • There will be a maximum of 12 players per team. Those players who don't have a team may sign-up. The Organisers will indicate the team in which the player is assigned.
  • If a team has less than 5 players to play a game, the game will be suspended and the team will lose the game by 3-0.
  • Any player of any team cannot play for another team at any time during the tournament.
  • Each player must play during the whole tournament with the same number. Any change has to be advised to the Organisers.
  • At the beginning of the tournament, a Discipline Committee will be created. This will be formed by the Organisers and the captain of each one of the participating teams, as well as people with a recognized experience in LGBT sports. This Committee will analyse, decide and punish if necessary whenever there are problems with discipline, ethics, behaviour or any other circumstance that might need to be debated. Any decision taken by the Discipline Committee will be final.

COMPETITION RULES

  • The competition form will be indoor soccer and will be played on artificial grass. The competition will consist of a maximum of 10 teams with a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 12.
  • Official rules of the Federació Catalana de Futbol will apply during the tournament.
  • The player that receives 2 yellow cards during the same game will be expelled, although she will not be expelled from later matches.
  • If a player is sanctioned with the red card, she will not be allowed to play in the next game. The player that receives 4 yellow cards throughout the entire competition will be expelled from one match.
  • The competition will comprise of 2 phases, the first one the teams will be divided into two different pools and will all play against each other. When this is finished, the second phase will consist out of eliminatory games in a unique game. The distribution of the eliminatory phase will be based on the classification obtained from the first phase.
  • A trophy will be given to the team with the best Fair-play, which means the team that receives the least number of banns. There will also be individual trophies for the least hit keeper and for the player who makes the most goals during the entire tournament.

Additional Rules

  • There is the possibility to register individually, not pertaining any team. In this case the organisation will assign a team to the player.
  • If a team has less than 5 players to play a game, the game will be cancelled and the team in question will lose the game with a 3-0 result.
  • A player, registered for a specific team, can at no time during the tournament play for another team.
  • All players must play throughout the tournament with the same dorsal and it is essential to notify the organisation of any change or amendment to that effect.

TOURNAMENT RULES

The tournament will take place at the BARCELONA TENNIS OLIMPIC club, located at Passeig Vall d'Ebron, 178-196.

The tournament will be played on 10 red clay courts and 4 GreenSet courts. The main draws will be played on clay and the consolation draws will be played on GreenSet.  (The organising committee reserves the right to change the surfaces should the need arise).

The tournament is governed by GLTA rules.

Singles matches will be played to the best of three sets, with a tie-break to be played at 6-6 in all sets.

Doubles and Mixed Doubles matches will be two sets, plus a super tie-break to 10 points to decide the third set.

Consolation matches will be played to the best of 8 games, with a tie-break to be played at 8-8.

Players must be at the control desk 30 minutes prior to their match start time. If players have not presented themselves 15 minutes prior to the programmed start time, they will forfeit the match.

Warm-up time on court shall not exceed 5 minutes.

Once the match has been completed players should report the result to organisers at the control desk.

For first-round matches, losing players MUST inform organisers whether they choose to take part in the consolation draw or not. Failure to communicate this will result in AUTOMATIC EXCLUSION from the consolation draw.

At the end of each match the courts must be swept by the players, leaving it in good condition ready for the following match.

Two umpires will be present during the tournament. Their presence can be solicited to help resolve any doubt or incidient during a match, should any arise. The umpires' decision will be final and will not be subject to appeal.

Trophies will be awarded to winners and runners-up of the main draws as well as to winners of the consolation draws.

 

ACCREDITATION

Accreditation will take place on Thursday, 9th September between 17.00 and 20.00 in the Hotel Axel, located at Carrer d'Aribau 33.

Players must notify organisers of their arrival. Accreditations will be handed out along with a welcome pack and a welcome glass of cava/champagne.

Players who requested housing will be put in contact with their hosts.

Tournament draws and the order of play will be on display.

DINNER AND OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT PARTY

The tournament dinner will take place in "El Puma" restaurant, on Carrer d'Aribau 44, right in the heart of Barcelona at 21:30.  The dinner will be an all-you-can-eat buffet style meal with water included. Any additional drinks must be purchased separately.

The official party will start at 00:30 (half past midnight) at the Metro nightclub on Carrer de Sepúlveda 185. In order to obtain free entry and your second mixer drink for fre, you MUST display your accreditation.

During the party, the organisers will give their Thank You speech. You will also be treated to a performance.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT MAY BE OF INTEREST TO PLAYERS

During the three days of the tourmanent, the club terrace and cafeteria will be open

From 20.00 onwards the cafeteria will become a lounge bar, where players can relax and have a drink while listening to chill-out music

A massage service will be available (fees apply).

The tennis club pool will be open to all players from 13.00 every day..

MERCÈ RACE

On Sunday 19th of September there will be a new edition of the popular street race through the streets of Barcelona: La Cursa de la Mercè, the athletic protagonist of the city's popular fest. Last year there were 10.000 runners.
Once you've registered for the race, it's just a matter of waiting and prepare for the start shot for this 10km race, which as always starts from Avenida Rius & Taulet and starts at 9:30am.

Competition rules

  1. The 32nd Cursa de la Mercè will be held on 19th September, with the Avenida Rius I Taulet at 9:30am.
  2. The race is open to all people. In case the participant is less than 14 years old, then an approval from father, mother, legal guardian is needed and has to be given when picking up the number, together with a photocopy of an identity card (or passport). (Download the official PDF here). Minors are required to run with an adult: father, mother or legal guardian who will take care of the minor.
  3. The distance is 10Km. Certified by the Catalan Athletic Federation (FCA).
  4. The running course will be clearly marked at each kilometre. A drinking point will be located at around the 5Km distance.
  5. The maximum time to finish the race is 2 hours.
  6. The usage of a chip is required. If you don't have your own chip, you can obtain one during your Panteresports registration.
  7. Once you have registered, your registration fee will not be returned. Unless the athlete can prove that the cause for non-participation is due to an organizational error.
  8. Registration will close whenever a number of 12.000 runners has been reached.
  9. The organisation may change the route, through no fault and / or force majeure.
  10. The start is organised by coloured boxes. Your starting point is at the box that has the same number as your number.
  11. Only authorised vehicles are allowed to follow the race.
  12. The number and chip will have to collected at the dates/times the organisers have set.
  13. If you fail to get your number and bag on the indicated days, will make you forfeit the race.
  14. The race forms part of the "Challenge BCN 10K" races in season 2010-2011.
  15. The runners are entirely responsible for any damage they incur to others or themselves. The organisation does not accept any responsibility.
  16. The runners expressly agree that there data will be used for this event: they authorise the city of Barcelona to announce them in registration lists and results listings.
  17. Registering for this event means that you agree with the rules and regulations of the running events of the FCA. (http://www.fcatletisme.cat/Ruta). The organisation will decide on any incident that has not been foreseen in these rules.
